Our Story

Kelly Burrell & Co was established in 1987 to provide consultancy, project management and administration services to entities investing in the rural and agricultural sectors. The business subsequently expanded in a joint venture with a Lloyd's of London broking house to establish an international bloodstock insurance broking business.
Following the sale of the insurance joint venture Kelly Burrell & Co continued to provide consultancy and project management services to a number of business sectors - assignments included: project managing tender submissions for student housing at Sydney University; residential developments on wharves controlled by Sydney Harbour Foreshore Authority; the sourcing, acquisition, development and on-going management of a retirement village in NSW; assisting in the voluntary administration of a regional airline in NSW; assisting the management of a concrete pump manufacturer and assisting in the assessment and review of a number of Information Technology opportunities.
Since 2005, Kelly Burrell & Co has provided consultancy and financial modelling services to clients of Pacific Capital Adviser's which is a specialist adviser, debt and capital arranger and placement agent to the Australian and select Asian real estate markets with capability across a diversified set of real estate asset sectors.
Specific assignments have included: a large number of capital and/or debt raisings for both commercial, data centre and residential property developments; establishment of a property company's development fund; assisting in the due diligence process and preparation of a prospectus for a property company's IPO; assisting with a debt restructuring role with a publicly listed property company; a rail and port infrastructure tender to the West Australian Government to support iron ore mining in the Yilgarn Region of WA; various tenders to Housing NSW for allocation of dwellings to the not-for-profit housing associations; assistance with NRAS and National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) housing submissions; and debt origination role for the Federal Government National Housing Finance & Investment Corporation (NHFIC); investment in joint venture with Greening Australia to create and trade carbon credits.

Managing Director

James has over 40 years' experience in business development, senior and corporate management, project management, financial modelling and administration across a range of industries. Early years involved the part ownership and operation of an extensive sheep and cattle grazing operation and a bloodstock horse breeding and racing operation - James retains an ownership interest in a rural property near Crookwell NSW.
